  1. Hi there,
I was just doing a search for waterfall end joinery and found your piece “Taughannock (Coffee Table)”
I’m looking to make a coffee table for my partner very similar to your design.
I wanted to ask if there were any tricks to the joinery? I see you have used a mitre joint with spline keys. Is the mitre just end grain to end grain reinforced with the keys, or am I missing something?
I hope you don’t mind me asking for your secrets!
    Cheers from “Down Under”…Simon

    • Hi Simon,
Thanks for looking. You are correct regarding the joinery; just glued end grain to end grain and reinforced with the splines. I saw the piece a couple weeks ago in the client’s living room and its held up fine. I think the trickiest part was ensuring an accurate 45 degree cut on both pieces…that and glue-up. It took some futzing with the clamps but came out fine in the end.
      Good luck with your piece!
      -Bobby
